About this deal

Adrian Chiles presents a different proposition to heavy drinkers wanting to do something about it; instead of abstaining, how about drinking in moderation? I found some of the writing style a bit 'matey' and irritating but the message was put across very well and clearly. Chiles wrote the non-fiction book The Good Drinker: How I Learned to Love Drinking Less, published in October 2022.

In 2004, Chiles appeared with Johnny Vegas and Mackenzie Crook in the film Sex Lives of the Potato Men in a cameo role as the host of a sex party. If any of the above resonates with you, or you generally like Chiles, you'll probably like this rambling drinking memoir. In 2011, he presented a series of shows for ITV: The Dales, which focused on people working in the Yorkshire Dales, and Ade in Britain in which he undertook a tour of numerous places in Britain. Edmondson played Gordon Spry, whose uncle (Briers) is paralysed and has a greatly reduced attention span.It is important that we continue to promote these adverts as our local businesses need as much support as possible during these challenging times. In April 2009 he appeared on the cooking show Hell's Kitchen, where he reached the final, coming second to Linda Evans. Books telling us to give up drinking are 10 a penny, but how about something for those of us who like a social drink but are occasionally worried that two turn into four rather too easily? The show failed to capture a larger market share than its competitor Breakfast, and on 18 November 2011 it was announced that Chiles would be axed from the show.

Both of his cars have WBA in their registration and he has a stained glass West Bromwich Albion crest above his door. In 2010, he founded the Idiot Bastard Band with Simon Brint, Rowland Rivron, Neil Innes and Phill Jupitus. He also directed and appeared in "International Rescue" (1989) by Fuzzbox [27] and appeared in the music video " Terry" (1983) by Kirsty MacColl. I was almost averse to labelling this an autobiography, but there are some allusions to the slightly tougher parts of his life, both on and off the screen. Full of practical tips to step back from our ‘battle with the bottle’ while still being able to enjoy a drink in moderation. His final show also saw video tributes to an emotional Chiles from Prime Minister Gordon Brown and political leaders David Cameron and Nick Clegg. Having had Allan Carr's The Easy Way to Control Alcohol for a few years and never had the inclination to get round to reading it, I thought I would give this a go as it seemed a bit more likely and a bit more achievable for me. The key thing for me has been to learn to concentrate on doing one thing at a time, as every hour or even minute presents itself.
