About this deal
A flat, neutral and uncoloured sound is what you expect from a studio monitor headphone, but that isn’t the AKG way – an upfront presentation characterises their sound. The outer parts of the cups are aluminium rather than plastic, as are the ingots that attach the headband padding to the headband skeleton, complete with bright beveled edges. Their initially appealing aggression devolves into a midrange blare that is not particularly comfortable over long sessions and you may find them a bit much after a while. All three feature a three-axis, all-metal hinge - all critical parts of the design are said to be metal - which allows them to be folded-up.

Our site uses high-level SSL encryption technology, the most advanced security software currently available for online transactions. There are a few obvious signs that the AKG K175s aren’t really made for life on the train, and the job of making your commute marginally less miserable. The closed-back K175 earphones meanwhile use 40mm transducers, have a higher sensitivity and a slightly narrower claimed frequency range.
The AKG Foldable Studio Headphones Line is built on a legacy of 70 years of quality, and features our latest transducer and acoustic technologies.
AKG K175 Closed-Back Studio Headphones - Kenny’s Music
Their superior sensitivity and low impedance offer maximum output before distortion, so you can use them even when playing music on lower-powered mobile devices. They come with a thick, coiled cable rather than the usual straight type, which weighs heavily as you walk around wearing them. Like most on-ear headphones that make a concerted effort to stay in place, the AKG K175s exert a little pressure on your ears. The K275 are a closed-back design, while the K245 are open-back, and they offer slightly different frequency ranges as a result. If you need your item delivered on a specific day, you can leave a comment in the box at the checkout and we'll take it from there. Having been in the pipeline for some time, we can only assume AKG's testing regimen, which includes "extreme drop tests" and "an 80,000-bend-cycle test" for the cable, slowed things down a touch.
