About this deal

On "Candy", Wheeler's vocals are backed by a drum machine and orchestral strings sampled from " Make It Easy on Yourself" (1965) by the Walker Brothers. These days, it's summer and I have to go spend eight hours of my day in a climate-controlled building, staring at a computer and making copies. The song's music video, which was filmed in the basement of a house in London, was directed by Jeff T. Won't Be Saved" is similar to the band's earlier material and was nearly left off the final version of the album but the band's agent persuaded them to keep it. Walking Barefoot" was released as an Australian-exclusive single in 2002, with the "Teenage Kicks" cover, "Waterfall", "Stay in Love Forever" and "Skullfull of Sulphur" as its B-sides. The song had its origins in the Nu-Clear Sounds sessions; the chorus was reworked during the making of Free All Angels.Ash finally seem to have gotten around to growing up some, but the maturity of a song like "Walking Barefoot" actually suits them well, especially when it's countered with some solid looks over the shoulder at a time when the 'punk' was the louder half of the band's punk-pop equation. Wheeler wrote "Sometimes" in a hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, while on tour to promote Nu-Clear Sounds.
