A Koons sculpture of a ballerina resembles the piece Ballerina Lenochka created by the Ukrainian artist Oksana Zhnykrup in 1974. His auction records have primarily been achieved from his sculptures (especially those from his Celebration series), whereas his paintings are less popular.
