The double vinyl set starts off with the fist-pumping, don’t-you- dare-skip-the-intro song “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis,” followed by Shiro Sagisu’s stellar compositions that back the show’s unforgettable and haunting episodes. Neon Genesis Evangelion originally ran from 1995 to 1996 and is credited with the big global spread of Japanese animation due to the popularity of the series.

The double LP set will arrive in various vinyl color variants exclusive to Milan Records, Mondo, Light In The Attic, Right Stuf and Newbury Comic. I don't usually leave reviews for vinyl, but I heard this and was so impressed, I had to let people know. Instead of using a gatefold for a double-LP (which I feel is pretty standard fare at this point), they just decided to put the records in a basic sleeve. The latter also has a special 7" single vinyl that can be purchased which features Bowser’s song “Peaches”. The first record has classics such as "Cruel Angel's Thesis" and "Fly Me to the Moon" from the series, "Komm, Susser Tod" and "THANTOS" from End of Eva, and "Kyou No Hi Wa Sayounara" and "Tsubasa Wo Kudasai" from 2.The CD and digital release will be followed by a vinyl release in February 2021, celebrating both the Shin Evangelion film release and Anime Month. A handful of the songs were recorded as recently as this year, but some should be their originals, now preserved for all time in wax. The 15-track collection includes Takahashi’s well-known opening song to the series 'The Cruel Angel’s Thesis,' as well as new covers of original songs including 'FLY ME TO THE MOON (2020 Version),' a new recording of the classic jazz standard featured in the show’s end credit, and a new vocal arrangement from Takahashi of 'Kokoro yo Genshi ni Modore 2020.

From Yoko Takahashi's vocals on the opening theme, "The Cruel Angel's Thesis," to two renditions of the jazz standard that closed each episode, "FLY ME TO THE MOON," the sounds of the series will take you back to Tokyo-3. They sound like robots; no one talks like that and that just peeves me as an intermediate in the language. I believe i have the misprint version (missing the title of Komm, Süsser Tod on the lyric sheet) however i also noticed a purple circle on the sticker of side D which I could not find present on other copies I saw online. I can make out parts of the songs I could never before, which I love about vinyl, especially a well made release. It's the anime that changed the format forever, from storytelling to character design - Neon Genesis Evangelion is still, to this day, one of the most beloved, divisive and iconic animated series of all time.EVANGELION FINALLY, a collection of vocal songs performed by Yoko Takahashi and Megumi Hayashibara as heard in the hit anime series NEON GENESIS EVANGELION and EVANGELION 2. There's a cool little insert with some lyrics and interviews with the two prominent artists, which is nice. When I said I would compare the 2021 Eva Finally against my 2015 Series soundtrack one of the only tracks they share, I was sort of mistaken. I feel they could have put any of Hikaru Utada's songs from the Rebuilds on here as a way of encompassing all of the great songs throughout the Eva franchise's years.

With every spin, the soundtrack's enchanting melodies and pulsating rhythms evoke the kaleidoscopic world of Evangelion, where hope and despair collide.
