About this deal

Numerous changes have been made by Numatic to increase Henry’s efficiency, meaning despite the reduced wattage the Henry Hoover power is just as powerful – if not more powerful – than previous versions. Easily move from carpet to wooden floors to tiles -with on-board accessory storage you'll have everything within reach at the moment you need itwithout having tohunt in cupboards for lost accessories.

Additionally, our fibre removal from upholstery test involves timing how long it takes to clean fluff and lint from a cushion using the upholstery tool. The latest Henry models do not come with the same setting so it’s no longer a case of Henry Hoover 1200w vs 620w,, there is just the one vacuum mode which operates at 620 watts with the 160-11 model and 580 watts with the 200-11 model. Henry bags even come with a neat closing tab that can be closed the moment they’re removed, minimising the chance of any dusty spills during bag changes. It doesn’t matter which tool combination you have on the end of the Henry, you’ll always get impressive suction providing you’ve not filled its bag.

We’ve got every reason to believe them and have personal experience of Henry vacuums going on for decades. There is also something really satisfying about the metallic sound that Henry makes when debris travels down its stainless tube set. The efficiency changes made by Numatic mean they’ve somehow made Henry even better with the latest models, despite cutting his power by more than half. If you have a lot of mess that requires the crevice tool – say for clear-up following a DIY job – then the Henry can do this much faster than rival models, even sucking up bigger bits of debris. The Henry HVR 160-11 features an integrated grab handle and a clever wind-up reel to retreive the machine's 10-metre power cable. The previous Henry Hoover wattage at 1200W was above the new limit set in 2017, so Numatic made big changes and reduced the Henry 160 model to 620W, nearly halving Henry’s previous wattage. A single sweep forwards and backwards was all it took to leave an entirely clean path through the mess.

Before we go into detail on Henry, If you’d like to know more about Henry’s family you can check out our post on the Henry Hoover range. This power can make the vacuum cleaner a little hard to push across some surfaces, though, so it won’t suit everyone. A keen eye for technical detail and a general curiosity for how things work often gives Oli a unique insight into products he's either testing or writing about. Opening the air valve fully only reduces power to 314AW, which is far more power than most of the competition. A true design icon, the Numatic Henry is a vacuum cleaner that’s loved by thousands – including professional cleaners.
