About this deal

But if you want to make sure you get the most out of it, an interface is a good companion if you’re going to be recording over XLR. The Shure MV7 is here to answer most – if not all – of your audio questions, and comes together in a beautiful piece of hardware that can satisfy a number of uses. If you need to adjust your gain, be sure that your mic stops moving before you start recording again.

Our members love it, it's a one-cable plug-and-play with premium sound and very intuitive customisable settings. If you want to save quite a bit of money but also benefit from some great hardware and features, the Movo UM700 is a great value microphone. The touch panel looks cool, albeit a little out of place on this classic microphone design, but I found it less effective than standard knobs, dials, and switches. Its low sensitivity rating of just -59dBV/Pa means it needs plenty of clean gain - Shure recommends at least +60dB - to bring it up to 0dB line level or your recordings will be quiet and potentially noisy. The American company Shure began developing microphones during the early 1930s and is one of the pioneers of the audio engineering sector. It might seem strange in 2021 that Shure has opted for micro-USB over the now increasingly common USB-C, but it claims the MV7 doesn’t require the faster data transfer speeds so has stuck with the older connection point. Shure has been providing pro-grade microphones for an age, and the MV 7 Podcast microphone is its attempt to bring its high-end sound to content creators.

These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. First off, let’s get one thing straight: If you’ve been looking to move your audio game up to the big leagues with the SM7B for a while, you should still do just that. Although the process isn’t laborious, the problem lies in how touching the mic introduces unwanted noise into the recording.

These two mics are very similar to one another and both offer excellent vocal reproduction and an attractive Elvis-style design. The SM7B has a much flatter frequency response between 50 and 200 Hz, which means that most voices will retain their desirable warm, smooth richness.
