Our dye is easily applied with a sponge or spray bottle and leaves behind vivid, rich colour with a built-in protective sealant layer. It won't stain other surfaces as readily, but as it is a permanent dye, be careful not to let it contact surfaces or clothes you don't want stained. In all other instances, or for the best preparation procedure, you should clean the leather with Leather Prep, followed by Alcohol Cleaner. If you apply too much pressure you may get a foam of colour on the surface, this is not a problem, just wipe it away with the sponge (gently). The product was then left to dry and a repeat application added, the appearance at this point is awful, it looks blotchy and uneven, however the instructions explain that at this stage the intention is to give a back- ground colour and to get pigment into the seams.
