Imalent is living proof that you do in fact, get what you pay for. I had really high expectations of this light, and was in no way disappointed. The MR90 is a very well-made unit, and delivers the best of both worlds. The spot light projects a clear, perfectly round dot that can illuminate anything as far away as I can see. Living in a big city with a lot of light pollution makes it impossible to verify the throw of the spot beam, though. The flood light is absolutely insane at full power, and feels like it could light a stadium, or flat-out melt someone at close range! The user interface is simple, and the strobe spot is a handy safety feature. Imalent was very communicative and easy to deal with, and they got my light to me in about a week. For reference, here’s a baseline shot, with all the room lights off and almost nothing hitting the sensor. Also, here’s the light with the worst PWM I could find. I’m adding multiple timescales, so it’ll be easier to compare to the test light. Unfortunately, the PWM on this light is so bad that it doesn’t even work with my normal scale, which is 50 microseconds (50us). 10ms. 5ms. 2ms. 1ms. 0.5ms. 0.2ms. In a display faster than 0.2ms or so, the on/off cycle is more than one screen, so it’d just (very incorrectly) look like a flat line. First of all, the integrated fans are a big improvement over the heat shroud used in a few previous models. Output on this model is great and very high for a little while before stepping down. The fans seem effective, and the Imalent MS12 Mini flashlight can hold high output for quite some time. I would like a lower low, though. Long Review The Big Table Imalent MS12 Mini Flashlight The thing I would like Imalent to upgrade is the fans being controlled by temperature, and not just by mode. Fortunately, you can still turn the fans on manually by a long press from Off. That’s great, because it really helps to cool the light down. But temperature-controlled fans would have been even better… just in case. Throw Measurement These flashlights are made from high-quality aerospace-grade aluminum, ensuring that they can withstand even the toughest conditions. I’m not 100% sure if it’s a feature, but I could continue using the light when the power was plugged in.The shed is about 65 meters / 71 yards away.The second set of pictures: 200 meters to the reflective fence. The fans make quite a bit of noise and reduce speeds when you shake the light. That probably means you shouldn’t be waving with the light too often, or use it on things that move/shake a lot. When charging, a LED beside the charge port is red. When charging is complete this LED turns green. In my copy of the Imalent MS12 Mini flashlight are Cree XHP70.2 emitters, and there are twelve of them.

Unlike the Imalent MS08 and RS50, the MS12 MINI doesn’t have a plastic shell with the fans built-in.
