About this deal

I'm not the world's biggest Evil Dead fan by any stretch, with my lifetime experience limited to a few stray viewings of Sam Raimi's original three films during my teenage and twenty-something years. Absolutely without any doubt can say I haven’t gotten scared at a horror movie in forever but this was incredible. For items that are dispatched using our standard service, we ask that you wait 14 days from the date of dispatch before reporting any items as undelivered. Initially, I was quite annoyed, but then I remembered that the film was initially intended for streaming only, so they probably didn’t bother shooting any features while making the film. Updated daily and in real-time, we track all high-def disc news and release dates, and review the latest disc titles.

Other than that, this is currently the definitive set for Evil Dead Rise and a must have for Evil Dead Collector's.it feels paced just right for a story that's essentially stripped down to the bare minimum for character development and extraneous details. The film stars Lily Sullivan (I Met a Girl, Barkskins), Alyssa Sutherland (New Gold Mountain, Vikings), Morgan Davies (The End, Storm Boy), Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence) and introducing Nell Fisher (Northspur). I have my own book coming out this Halloween and now feel so proud to have written stories like this particular one. Some subtle nods to them though in the film but by comparison its not for the squeamish or those who don't enjoy jump/scares. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.

Yes, there is not the same slapstick comedy but everything else important in the classic Sam Raimi films is present. Unfortunately I've emptied my den as roof was sagging so everything is in my back room but will watch it with the built in atmos on my tv then watch it again when I've set everything back up. In "Evil Dead Rise," a captivating and terrifying horror film, a young and ambitious medical student, Emily, discovers an ancient book of occult rituals. It’s interesting - in another thread, plenty of people were saying how extras are of no interest or importance, just the film in the best quality available….

The Campbell-led Ash vs Evil Dead was wonderful, but canceled prematurely because nobody had Starz, and wasn’t a hit till it reached Netflix. which I confess that I’ve never been able to finish despite multiple attempts, was a complete misfire, although it has its fans.

The UHD and Blu-Ray does include some extras, unlike the US release, including a commentary track from director Lee Cronin. I'm one of the few people that doesn't mind no title on the front of the steel, although no gloss is a shame, but yeah i still like it. Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, EVIL DEAD RISE tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, played by Sullivan and Sutherland, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable. I think the setting in the high rise creates a creepy claustrophobia and there are only really four characters throught the whole movie. pack includes a general overview of Evil Dead Rise's particular visual aesthetic, where I referred to it as David Fincher Dark™.

In an effort to straighten out their drug-ravaged friend Mia (Jane Levy), a group of five 20-somethings decide. The performances were excellent, the surround sound, again, was great and the blood fairly plentiful, but I felt it needed a better director (sorry, Lee) to make it shine. cousins and of their boyfriends on a lakeside cabin retreat gone wrong -- that's only kinda-sorta resolved during the film's closing moments. For the week that ended on July 1st, Walt Disney Home Entertainment and 20th Century Studios' Avatar: The Way of Water remained on top of both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its second week, while Lionsgate Home Entertainment's John Wick: . tension with excellent use of side, back, height, and LFE channels to maintain its claustrophobic atmosphere.

The artwork is menacingly perfect, you get the feeling that you're in for a horrifying watch before you even get to the disc and the cover is quite literally luring and daring you to open it! Lee Cronin’s blood-soaked and full-throated interpretation of the classic horror franchise explodes onto 4K from Studio Canal with an Atmos track to die for. I remember thinking how excellent the sound design was when I saw this at the cinema but I was pretty disappointed with the film. It's also a great horror on its own merits so even if you're someone who hasn't seen any of the previous films, you don't need to have done so as it doesn't require it. including a creepy-looking book that might be valuable and even a few dusty records (presumably for sampling!
