I know my nephew is only to love opening and closing all the doors - some of the latches will be a challenge for a while which is great and I think he will get many year of fun out of it. This board is a great idea having different latches and doors that open up to reveal animals(w/ varying colors) all on one toy.

I've not opened it to play with it as it is a Christmas gift, but I can see through the cellophane that the catches and latches are really well built, good quality fixings, but all rounded off so no caught fingers. My 13 month old is fascinated by all of the doors and latches, he hasn't learned to latch on his own, but is able to open almost every door independently, the colors and numbers reinforce other things that he is being taught and he doesn't seem bored easily with this toy. This item (latches) is one of those 'once in a lifetime' purchases because its extremely well thought out and made. So interesting with all the hooks and latches, but a bit hard for her to do independently at 13 months.
