About this deal

Before the Thor missile reached its altitude of 200 miles, the warhead was blown apart by ground control. As a 17 year old in 1986 I got my first full time job there, as a Warehouse skivvy, packing boxes of records and CD's. It would be worth many hundreds of pounds now - it was a Homer and they rarely did anything else than fish so it even has a rarity value.

These adverts enable local businesses to get in front of their target audience – the local community. Granted, these days, your average Debenhams or House of Fraser is about as enticing as another round of turkey sandwiches. A big procession through the town followed by the opening of the grotto with a big gold key took place. The photograph was taken in the early 1960's, by which time the Croydonisation of Croydon had just started. It was all under the leadership of managing director Jimmy Driscoll who was recorded to be the retail trade's greatest showman of the 1930s. The band-leader got in touch with me over a midweek booking that we wanted me to attend, the venue was to be at Kennards blue room, wild horses would not have kept me away. The zoo came under a lot of criticism as the cages were not considered to be ideal conditions for animals.

This attracted many children with their parents, so they decided to expand the zoo further with more exotic animals.ive just checked their site and you are correct, but i do rememeber there being a school there and i worked at m/s between '76 and '78 so the school would have been there then. Did anyone else visit the Bier Keller, which was in a basement below Marks and Spencer, entrance on the high street? they used to love me going into the main post office in the high street with all the insured foreign's that he used to send. I'd go in there to play games like Galaxian, Scrambler, Moon Cresta, Missile Command, Defender, Frogger, Asteroids, Space Invaders part 2 and then cross over the road to T-Shirts Galore to play the original Space Invaders, I held the all time hi-score for that machine and could make 10p last about a couple of hours! Someone mentioned the Ice Cream Parlour at West Croydon, there was also one down Surrey Street, almost opposite Caters supermarket if my memory serves me right.

I remember it to this day, it was like something we'd never before imagined (bear in mind that up until then, a Wimpy burger and a rum baba represented a good night out). Personalized advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of information under California and other state privacy laws, and you may have a right to opt out. My mum was a silver service waitress in Kennards' Blue Room restaurant which was adjacent to a fabulous Soda Bar.Read more about the condition Very Good: A book that has been read and does not look new, but is in excellent condition.
