About this deal

I had often thought that it would be neat to get all the great portrait painters together to interpret the same subject and then see the differences among them. He was generous with his instruments and would happily allow the not-remotely-famous play his guitars. For each of the albums were studied their history and characteristics, and for the recording process and sessions in the studio were procured and used equipments which was used at the specific time, and the studio itself was set up in the way to best-possibly convey the sound of rooms of the previous times.

The Blues went in yet another direction, when it started to mingle with Celtic and Scottish/Irish influences, forming still another hybrid.Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the completion of the Red Special and 20 glorious years since the launch of the Brian May Guitars brand, every BMG Special now comes complete with a FREE 2024 Sir Brian May "Official Queen Pick" in a perspex collector's case. Plays great, feels sturdy, stays in tune when you hit the tremolo bar and the options you get out of the switching system are sweet. Whether it's a bright gloss or smooth satin, maybe a trans coat revealing the wood underneath - your need to love the look of your bass guitar. The Blue Guitar Collection was displayed at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History from November 11th 1997 through October 1998. For every lover of good music and for all guitar aficionados in particular, Blue Guitars is an absolute must.

Country Blues was the natural development, the direction that the original Blues would take, once it had arrived in the American South: it was a dark time, a time of fear, people had to work hard during slavery, even harder after they had been released, wandering around unemployed, aimlessly. The variety and uniqueness on offer here make this an outstanding recording guitar when you've run out of options on your usual guitar collection. As per the original BM design, the Special is equipped with six white-capped slider switches controlling individual pickup on/off and phase reversal, providing a vast range of tonal variations. In these songs, he follows the Blues from its origins in Africa to the sad journey that takes the music to the Americas where the Blues evolves and blends with other styles.Chris Rea then took the project in his own hands, dedicated to bring it into the world as no-one else would do it, together with a handful of dedicated top musicians. From "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Fat Bottom Girls" through to "One Vision" and "I Want It All", this guitar undoubtedly gets you much closer to Brian's tone than any typical Strat or Les Paul. The neck isn't as deeply contoured as Brian's own but it is more substantial than many modern rock axes; with the nut width and neck contour we found it very comfortable to play. It was a tremendous change in the way, the Blues could be approached, fine and subtle figures and fine chord structures could suddenly be played, the Blues was rising to previously unbeknown heights: "Now I can play above the bar noise, Man I'm bigger than a crowd" as Rea states in the opener "Electric Guitar", which paraphrases what musicians must have felt after this milestone revolution.

Audacious commission” hits the nail on the head, I might even add “expansive”—given the license offered to the builders, complete freedom around a unifying theme. Whether you’re into the cool, vintage look or you prefer the sleek metallic and modern fade finishes, you’ll find them here! Of course, to get even closer you'll want to factor in choice of pick (Brian favours old sixpence coins, sometimes fingers) effects (treble boost, delay, phaser, chorus) and amplifier (Vox AC30 with top boost, the Deacy amp) but this guitar is a substantial aspect to May's magic.Originally launched in 2001 by Burns, this version of Brian May's Red Special guitar was released in 2006 by Brian May Guitars, a company headed up by Barry Moorhouse of House Music, Pete Malandrone (Brian May's tech) and Brian May himself. I'm very impressed with the build quality, all the details are flawless - it's a very fine guitar, and value for money is great. The instruments that were being made at that point, in my view, surpassed those at any other time in history. I have the Blue box set, and as you'd expect from that many songs in one place at one time, it's a mix of awesome, really good, a bit mediocre and a handful of fillers.

With over 20 pickup setting options, it's certainly one of the most tonally versatile guitars on the market! Some of the best known versions include Fender's Daphne Blue which has been a firm favourite since the 1960s. However, I do mean good, and don’t have enough of an issue with it to mark my rating down (or maybe I’m not being critical enough on this point but I expect it will improve with a small set up adjustment). One would expect that such an overabundance produced over a compacted period would no doubt end up being terribly repetitive in both scores and lyrics. Certainly, it's the closest option if you're chasing a typical bridge humbucker tone but with an appealing raspy edge if you dig in on the lower wound strings.

Thereby Chris Rea and his band imitate the various styles and lyrical topics, creating an instantly recognizable atmosphere on each record, with the first few songs usually setting up the direction in which the record is going and then developing to various styles within the field of each record. It is also worth noting that the Blue D’Aquisto Centura Deluxe was featured at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the museum’s “Guitar Heroes” exhibit in 2011. During the process of writing and rehearsing the songs with the band over and over until perfect, Chris still finds time for more.
