About this deal

Introducing Fakeaway, Chris Bavin's second solo best-selling cookbook sharing 100 simple recipes for takeaway-inspired meals that cater for everyone.

Crispy coated chicken with a mildly spicy curry sauce – it’s a recipe that the whole family will love. From All-in-one biryani or Sesame spring rolls, to Sicilian-style pizza, Falafel flatbreads and Chilli burritos, there's something for every Friday night feast. He is much-loved for his easy, healthy and tasty cooking - the ideal person to teach the nation how to ditch their expensive takeaways and still enjoy their favourite dishes made at home. Using readily available ingredients, standard kitchen equipment and with tips on freezing, cost-saving and ditching single-use plastics, you can enjoy a fuss-free fakeaway with minimal effort and maximum flavour - all without leaving the house. I expected the coating of the chicken to be a bit of a faff but it really wasn’t and baking the chicken rather than frying it means the whole dish is a whole lot healthier than usual.

The recipe makes a very generous amount of Sushi, with masses even after my need to sample and the first experience with the sushi mat. As the days get warmer, you may not necessarily want a filling curry with all the associated extras.Wise Living Magazine may receive a small commission to help support the running of this site from purchases made from links on this page. I also made a quick egg-fried rice (pre-cooked cheat’s brown rice with two eggs and a red onion) and stir-fried pak choi to serve. This Chinese Chicken and Broccoli combines chicken with crunchy vegetables, stir-fried with an authentic tasting sauce for maximum flavour. Organized by type of cuisine, there are a multitude of delicious dishes to recreate from the much-loved Friday night fish and chips, to spicy stir fries, pizza, pasta and more!

The introduction suggests “using rice instead of egg noodles” to make it gluten-free, but there’s no mention of egg noodles in the ingredients list. Chris’ version is really quick to make, it’s a case of using flavourful curry paste and turmeric to give the rice a rich spiciness and beautiful colour, with a healthy dose of green peppers, courgette and caramelized onions alongside. What I thought: This sauce was dangerously good, mild in spice and quickly made hotter with a few slices of fresh chilli on top! This version has salami and olives, but you can add your favourite toppings to make your own unique pizza. Wise Living Magazine shares tasty recipes, expert wellbeing advice, healthy eating tips, travel inspiration, money-saving advice and the latest home and garden projects to help you get the most from life! So you want to look for fillet of fish, you have to go to the contents, look up the recipe, flip the 148 pages to the recipe.
