About this deal

Alkaline battery (9V, 6LR61) Options (sold separately) AC adaptor: PSA series Size and Weight Width 73 mm With Roland shifting the focus of its BOSS division towards a series of compact pedals in 1977, it was only a matter of time before their famous chorus sound was downsized. And in October 1979, the CE-2 was unveiled. There are certain advantages afforded by digital chorus pedals, however: these contemporary stompboxes can not only emulate their analog forebears, but veer into flanger territory, too – accordingly, TC Electronic’s unfortunately named Corona Chorus is one of the most versatile chorus pedals on the market.

The "analog-ness" of this pedal really shows through. For example, I can tell a big difference between this pedal and the CE-5 Chorus Ensemble, which I also really like. If you're seeking a no-frills chorus pedal that won't break the bank, then the June 60 Mk II is a great call. It sounds excellent, modeled on the rich, seductive chorus found on the ’80s Roland Juno synths. Consequently, it's equally at home on guitar and synth, with extra options available via external dip switches. Despite the price point, it's even stereo via Y-cable. Each Waza Craft pedal is a complete redesign of the classic circuits by the original designers. Find out exactly what makes them so unique. Read more… Waza Craft Ultimate Rundown!Released in 176, the BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble took the chorus circuitry from the JC amplifiers and placed it at the feet of guitarists everywhere. The CE-1 featured the very same circuit found in the JC series and included both chorus and vibrato functionality. Chorus adds an extra dimension when paired with other pedals. Here are some dynamic suggestions for combining it with different effects. Read more… Five Creative Ways to Use a Chorus Pedal for Guitar Launched in 1976, the CE-1 Chorus Ensemble was not only the world’s first chorus effect pedal, but also the very first BOSS pedal. Three years later, this inventive new sound was squeezed into the blue CE-2 Chorus, and chorus pedals have remained in the compact lineup ever since. Four decades on, the spacious modulated tone of the signature BOSS effect is still loved by musicians everywhere. In 2016, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of BOSS innovation, the original analog chorus sounds are now reborn with the Waza Craft CE-2W. The CE-2W’s Standard mode faithfully recreates the classic CE-2 chorus sound, and adds an expansive new sound field with stereo output, which was unavailable in the mono CE-2. CE-1 mode fully reproduces the stereo chorus and vibrato sounds of the legendary CE-1, with the addition of variable chorus depth not available in the original pedal. To commemorate the birth of BOSS effects, the CE-2W is made exclusively in Japan, just as the original CE-1 and CE-2 were. A: Since October 2001 all CH-1s produced have been digital. Amongst a wealth of reasons Boss made this change principally for reliability and consistency

Super Chorus

This line can be blurry. Famously, Andy Summers didn't use a chorus on The Police's Walking On The Moon. It's reportedly an EHX Electric Mistress flanger, which explains his recent signature pedal. What should I look for in a chorus pedal? Using the Brilliance knob, you can control the “sparkling” feel of the CE-20’s chorus sounds for effects that really cut through the mix. The secret is the CE-20’s unique ability to enhance a guitar’s harmonics. Another new control is the Ambience knob, which adds reverberation to the chorus for even greater spaciousness and depth. There’s never been a sound like it! Memories 4 Nominal Input Level GUITAR/BASS: -20 dBu

A: No. Although there’s a lot of true bypass hype these days, neither true nor buffered bypass is objectively better than the another. On account of a buffer’s ability to drive long cable runs and provide silent switching, Boss remains resolutely in the buffered camp. As I've mentioned, you get a really nice modulation layer and not a ton of fluttering or pitch shifting. You can get some of that sound, but the dominant feature of this pedal's tone is a soft, watery layer of chorus which is exactly the type of modulation I like to use. Terms like LFO might be bamboozling at first glance, but think of it simply as the rate, a sine wave that you can hear giving motion to the guitar. It delivers a clean chorus sound with crystal-clear highs and a unique stereo effect, variable between the left and right speakers. An EQ function adjusts the tonality of the chorus sound. Boss pedals are renowned for quality and value and the CH-1 has been an industry favourite for over 20 years. What does a chorus pedal do?The mini toggle provides a selection of CE-2 chorus, CE-1 chorus or CE-1 vibrato effects to provide all of the same effects as the original CE-2 and CE-1 pedals. These old-school sounds have been taken into new territory by more recent efforts from the likes of Fender and Walrus Audio, who have served up additional waveforms to adjust how angular the chorus sounds. The features and controls are fairly standard for a chorus pedal - depth and rate control the sound and speed of the chorus whilst E.level is an effects level, acting as a wet / dry mix. The CH-1 also includes an additional function in an EQ knob, which can give give a really strong, bright and shimmery chorus sound, whilst boosting the depth at the same time can create a sound verging on the edge of vibrato! The CE-2W Chorus proudly honors the 40th anniversary of BOSS effects with a premium analog pedal made exclusively in Japan.

If you want a straight-up, easy-to-operate and, most of all, great-sounding chorus pedal, look no further than TC Electronic’s Corona. A pared-down (at least in its looks) take on the company’s legendary – and considerably more expensive and involved – Stereo Chorus Flanger unit, the Corona is a compact digital pedal boasting just four knobs – Speed, Depth, FX Level and Tone, as well as stereo and mono ins/outs. When you increase the depth, it increases the intensity of the effect. When you adjust the rate (or delay time) it makes the repeats occur closer together or farther apart.
