About this deal

Step 2: Use tailor’s chalk to make an arc at the bottom corner (on the fold) and a larger arc from the bottom to the top of the fabric. (See picture.) Cut out both arcs. Repeat this step with your gold fabric lining. Pin the lining to the cape and trim the bottom of the gold fabric making it a few inches shorter than the blue fabric. Hem the bottoms of the lining and cape, if you’d like. Leia wears this dress at the end of the movie while on the medical ship with Luke. The costume is a representation of her resilient, calm and focused nature. Ceremonial gown

Step 1: Measure your child’s waist and add a couple extra inches for seam allowance. Draw a cummerbund shape onto a piece of paper. Use it as your pattern to cut out the cummerbund from the pleather fabric. You can create the center rectangular detail with just a piece of pleather itself or by covering a piece of craft foam with the pleather fabric (which will make it sturdier). Add details with acrylic paint or fabric maker. Hot glue the rectangular detail onto the belt. Then hand-sew or hot glue velcro to the ends of the belt. This is not a “hot Princess Leia” costume. This is a “comfortable Princess Leia” costume. It does not need to be form-fitting. old silver ribbon just long enough to comfortably fit around your waist (I have tons of random pieces of ribbons in my wrapping paper box, but if you don’t, just ask around. I’m sure you have a mommy friend who’s got something you can use.) Woman costuming as Princess Leia ; embed from https://www.deviantart.com/glittersweet/art/Leia-84509254 The costume consisted of mid-calf length brown top with a fitted bodice and flared sleeves and fitted harem pants. The top was cinched at the waist by a belt made of the same material as the top. On top of that there is a sleeveless silk cloak with subtle embroidery and quilted detail at the shoulders. It has a more sophisticated and elegant design compared to her previous outfits, reflecting Leia’s role as a leader within the Rebel Alliance. Medical frigate GownThis step is much easier said than done, and was by far the hardest part of this DIY No Sew Easy Princess Leia costume. I admit I literally sweated a bit during this stage, until I realized that no one was going to see a slightly crooked or rumpled seam.

Princess Leia wears this suit throughout the film, from the time the Rebels arrive on Hoth to the time they escape the planet. She also wears it during the Battle of Hoth. The white vest is worn with high boots and braids wrapped around her head. Step 8: For the straps, have your child wear the costume and then measure and cut the appropriate strap length. Attach the ribbon straps to the inside of the costume with hot glue or staples. Finally when I felt it was not too baggy but also not yet too tight, I made a half inch diagonal cut into the armpit area to allow room for a small hem. Cut the bottom length and the final cut of the arm length After the rough cut, but before the final cut of the sleeves Step 4: For the collar, cut out 2 donut shapes. (I used a child’s circle skirt pattern as my guide.) This will give you 2 layers to the collar -- an upper and lower layer. Sew the two layers together at the outside of the circles. This iconic costume is often associated with Princess Leia Organa; so if you want to dress like Princess Leia, make this gown.Princess Leia wears her most iconic of all costumes, the Classic white dress with space buns in the very first Star Wars movie released in 1977, titled “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.” The gown that Princess Leia wears in Star Wars is commonly known as her “Princess Leia white gown” or “Princess Leia’s white dress.” It was made of white crepe-de chine fabric and was designed by John Mollo. Again I laid down and had my husband fold the fabric to just above my ankles. If you want to make a hem here then be sure to cut it a bit longer than the desired final length. Going with my philosophy of not sweating the small stuff too much in making this costume, I decided it’d take me less time to cut the bottom carefully, than hem it up with tape. Ditto with the arm length, which I finalized before taping the inside seams so that I wouldn’t have to do one bit of extra work with the fabric tape. And since I only plan to wear this Halloween costume a couple times and mostly in the dark, I didn’t think anyone would notice (and in fact, no one has). Tape the arms and sides together The Slave Leia/Metal Bikini costume consists of a gold brass bikini top, a brief bottom, and various accessories. Leia’s hair is styled in intricate braids, and she wears a collar and chains as part of her enslavement by the villainous Jabba the Hutt.
