About this deal

the plot was so boring. the characters had 0 personality. and the spice didn’t even feel that natural to me? 😭 i’m not gonna lie, i forgot everything as soon as i put this down. I am into reading kink and love a bit of powerplay, but I am even more into balanced and consensual relationships when powerplay is entered into after mutual respect has been established. The fact that Briar did not take any shit from the MMCs and demanded respect from them just made me so happy.

OMG this was so good! I have to read the rest of her books now! I fell madly in love with every single one of them Matt took me a little while but when I finally got to understand him I caved & fell🥹 Some people may have not liked Briar, but I adored her, she became one of my favorite book girls. Two childhood friends. Two broken hearts. One impromptu road trip to get away from everything. That’s all this was supposed to be. Afterall, I’ve been living in the friend zone for years now. What’s the saying… the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. How about three someones. One celebrity diva in trouble. Three overprotective bodyguards determined to keep her safe. As one of the world’s most hated celebrities, I’m used to unwanted attention. But when I wake up one morning to find a mysterious man has broken into my ho... On top of that, we don’t get on. They think I’m a demanding diva. I think they’re overdramatic. When a trip to America sends the guys’ protective instincts into overdrive, the sizzling tension between us finally breaks, and I learn my bodyguards’ butterfly-inducing secret: they want me.

Not only did it have a cute relationship development between fmc and three gorgeous men, but it had a mystery in it. Meanwhile, my stalker’s behaviour is becoming more and more alarming. He’s photographing me through windows and following me in the shadows. With the premiere for my next movie coming up, will my three bodyguards be able to keep me safe from his clutches? Or will my terrifying pursuer finally get his deadly way? Once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down until the end! So make sure you have plenty of time to devote to this story so you won’t end up reading until the wee hours of the morning and having a book hangover like I did!

I knew that when that happened, my life would never be the same again. Never. I’ve never loved a girl so much. Losing her might just break me.”Having three gorgeous men guarding me 24-7 sounds like a dream come true, but it turns out to be a nightmare. They’re always here, watching me. Caring for me. Protecting me. They tell me to ignore them and go about my business, but I can’t even think with them so close. The spark is too intense. You know how difficult it is to find a RH standalone novels? Just increasing a star because it is a standalone. Really enjoyed this book. A but long, I didn’t feel it had to be that long. There also wasn’t a lot of romance as I really wanted. I just wish there was more cute and fluffy, more focused on the stalker & her life as a celebrity. The relationship between Briar, Kenta, Matt, and Glen is profound and I couldn’t get enough. Briar slowly breaking down her walls to let them in, Matt working through his PTSD from blaming himself for what happened in the past, Glen started to believe that he’s worth more than he thinks, and Kenta trusting that he has something to offer other than keeping everyone together. Their bond, friendship, trust, respect, and honesty was inspiring and beautiful. Briar’s ability to take what the world saw her as and use it to her advantage, proved how strong and capable she is.

This story is about a stalker who will do anything to get to the object of his fixation. Violence is depicted in various ways including torture, stabbing, bombings, assault, attempted sexual assault, and other actions. Objectification of the female body is also discussed in this story. If you have any triggers, please read this book with caution. I’m literally in love with these new covers!! I mean, look at them😍 I’m going to binge all of these books! The author did an amazing job of making these characters multifaceted, complex and very interesting. The emotional growth of each character feels genuine, and definitely had me laughing, crying, sympathizing and giving me all the feels.

I highly recommend this book if you want a thoroughly entertaining and romantic book with some intrigue thrown in. It is a RH (no MM) with ultra spicy scenes. I swear sapphic authors can write the spice 🥵🥵. This book just wasn’t enjoyable to me because I spent so much of it being uncomfortable. With the heroine, the guys, the plot, everything. I didn’t connect to anyone or anything.

I’m honestly not sure why I even bothered finishing this… once I got to the end, I realized that I wished I DNFd it at around the 30-40% when I realized I wasn’t enjoying it… but oh well - I somehow made it to the end. The characters first meeting then just set the tone for the rest of the novel. Briar was unapologetic in her demands and confidence, while still being human and caring in her emotions. There was such an interesting balance between her “bitchiness” being an act, and it just being a part of her personality. Not to mention, while she does have some moments of reflection and personal growth, her core personality remains throughout the story. One other random thing that I loved was that the FMC never became a side character in her own story. This is a complaint that I have with Asian dramas more so than romance novels. But many stories tend to start with a strong but traumatised FMC, but by the end of the story all of the focus is on the MMC and his hurt and trauma. In Triple Duty Bodyguards, Briar is the one that gets kidnapped and ends up in the hospital. The MMCs are still very present and have their own growth arcs and thoughts, but the story stays focused on Briar. (No to get into the psychology of why I love seeing my favourite characters getting hurt).

I was so excited for this book and I am really sad to say it was low-key a disappointment. I feel like the plot was all over the place and one of the guys barely got any pov’s so I feel that we didn’t really get to know him like the others.
