Both of these stoves consume a surprisingly small amount of fuel when cooking on them, the efficiency of the air holes ensures that all the fuel is consumed and all that is left at the end is ash. Keep in mind to turn the the opening of stove so that it is easy to feed the box from where you will sit before lighting it up, as it will be difficult to turn once it is burning. The titanium version of the Bushbox XL is their lighter stove weighing in at 490g and 540g with the pouch. The best way for this is to use flat pliers, grip the full leg and bend it back carefully and gently. I purchased the leather pouch and the titanium multifunctional case and with the stove they all fit together for storage very well. You can also use it as a multi-fuel stove with petrol, however, we haven’t tested this yet as other fuel options have been easy to come by.

The Bushbox XL is well thought-out down to the smallest detail and offers you many possibilities for individual use. Boils 1ltr water in under 5 min, if proper bed of coals has been achieved and new fuel occasionally added.

It comes in a rugged, hard wearing canvas type envelope with a velcro seal to keep the contents secure. The Bushbox XL utilises the chimney effect which results in intense heat up to 800°C (even damp material can be used once the fire has started).
